By implementing technical specifications for toy products entering the European market to reduce or avoid the harm of toys to children, ensure that toys entering the EU market meet safety requirements and protect children’s health and safety.

The main contents are as follows:

EN 71-1: Physical and mechanical testing, including drop detection, small parts detection, sharp edge detection, etc
EN 71-2: Flammability test
EN 71-3: Toxic metal leaching test for 19 toxic metal elements such as lead, mercury, cadmium, etc
EN 71-4: Requirements for toys for chemical experiments
EN 71-5: Requirements for non-laboratory chemical toys
EN 71-6: Graphic requirements for age warning labels
EN 71-7: Refers to the requirements for painting pigments, including colorants, preservatives, etc
EN 71-8: Requirements for rocking, sliding, and similar toys for indoor and outdoor home entertainment
EN 71-9: General requirements for organic compounds in toys, specifying the total amount of toxic compound migration under multiple exposure methods
EN 71-10: Sample preparation and extraction of organic compounds
EN 71-11: Methods for the analysis of organic compounds

Physical and mechanical properties: Expand the definition of safety requirements, raise the standard for preventing choking hazards, and expand the relevant scope from children under 3 years old to some children over 3 years old
Chemical properties: prohibition of the use of CMR substances, prohibition or restriction of the use of allergenic aromatic substances, provision of 19 heavy metal migration limits,

limit the content of nitrosamine and nitroso amination substances, etc
Electrical performance: The internal voltage can exceed the 24V limit under the premise of ensuring safe use
Flame retardant performance: stipulate the flame retardant performance of toy products
Hygiene requirements: Toys used by children under 3 years of age should be considered cleanable
Noise requirements: specify the maximum values for pulse and continuous noise
Warning labeling requirements: According to the characteristics of toys and the needs of safe use, clarify the setting requirements for warning signs in different situations

Issuance of EC Type Certificate: EC Attestation of conformity “EU Standard Conformity Certificate”, a certificate issued by the EU Notified Body (Notified Body abbreviated as NB).
